We are often sent feedback from our clients, and the level of emotional attachment to their pets invariably shines through in the comments we receive. We've included a few examples below.

The Best Vet Hospital Ever!!

Janelle Hancock has been a regular visitor to Gawler Animal Hospital over the years with her German Shepherds, Bonza and Bella. She was also voted on to our list of 'valued clients' some time ago, as we have found her such a great client to deal with. She's pictured here with Bella. Whilst in visiting the new clinic earlier this month, Janelle was very keen to tell us that this is the best veterinary practice she's ever been to! Thanks, Janelle, we also think it's pretty special and that the vets and nurses are just as good!!

Bundy Vanstone – farewell to an old friend!

“My beloved Bundy died last Friday. My sincere thanks to you all for the kindness and love that you gave him during his many visits to the clinic.”

It was obvious to us all that Bundy was, indeed, a much beloved dog and Rex was a very dedicated owner. I know Bundy will be missed by all who knew him and certainly by all of us here at Gawler Animal Hospital.

"To all of the staff at Gawler Animal Hospital

Thanks you so much for your kindness, care & compassion throughout Buddy's illness & sadly his passing.

We have suffered a huge loss but what makes it easier is knowing that each & every one of you treated him not as just somebody's pet but as a member of someone's family. This is what makes your clinic a cut above the rest & what makes each of you very special.

Enjoy your 'pup-cakes' & thank-you again

Love Sue, Dom, Lina & Jess Carbone"

"I have had several pets and many dealings with vet clinics over the years. When our gorgeous furry friend Rosie developed a limp sometime ago we received conflicting diagnosis and advice from different vets (working in the same clinic). Frustrated and concerned we sought the advice of a vet in a different clinic and we were finally encouraged to seek surgery for our much loved girl. Having been very alarmed by the cost of surgery at the clinic we were referred to, we did some research of our own, and came across the Gawler Animal Hospital. This was the turning point for a positive future for Rosie.  From our first appointment with Dr Steve, his passion for animals and his dedication to helping them lead full and active lives, was apparent to us. Our first consult was long and detailed and we felt very comfortable to leave Rosie's health in Steve's hands. The operation went well, we were kept fully informed of Rosie's progress and the fees were very reasonable. In the follow up appointments we could not have asked for better service. It is rare indeed to find someone with Steve's dedication and passion, but to find an entire clinic full of friendly, professional and dedicated staff is a absolute pleasure.  Here we are just a few weeks after the surgery and Rosie is smiling, wagging her tail and looking for treats. Our gorgeous old girl is back and we couldn't be happier with her progress. Our good fortune on discovering this clinic has given Rosie the best chance for good health and well being.  We will be forever thankful and we won't be going anywhere else for veterinary care. To all the staff at GSSAH, your dedication to offering the best possible service is apparent from the very first visit. This is definitely a vet surgery with a difference, and a place where you all work together and really love your work! For those of us who really love our animals, it is a dream come true to find people like you. Thanks is not a big enough word!

Narelle Picchianti  and Rosie"

"To all the staff at Gawler Animal Hospital

I would just like you all to know how much I appreciated your support in helping Jack live the best life in his old age. The grief and sadness of losing him cuts deep but cannot take away the joy I have in my heart from all the years we were together.

Your combined effort ensured he was well cared for in his old age and I always had good advice on his health, care and well-being.

There is real compassion and caring in all the staff and I know Jack really enjoyed seeing you all, as well as the doggie smells and treats out the front!'

And most of all, when it was Jack's time, you were instrumental in making sure he was comfortable and at ease and slipped away peacefully.

Thank you all for the care that always goes above and beyond providing a service. I'll see you all again with my next pet.

Kind regards

Abby English"

"We would like to pass on our thanks to all the staff for the loving care given over the past 12 years to our recently departed Scamp. He was our first and most cherished Cavalier who always looked so forward to visits to his friends at Gawler Animal HospitalScamp first visited Gawler Animal Hospital in April 2000 where, as with most dogs, he was a somewhat reluctant visitor. However, after being greeted by the friendly staff with a pat and a liver treat he soon relaxed and had a very enjoyable time.

For almost 13 years Scamp experienced the warm and caring attention afforded him by all the staff but in particular vet Rebecka and nurses Lainie, Jane and Natalie. He was always a ladies man !!  Scamp was most grateful for their loving care and with their help and compassion he recently crossed over the Rainbow Bridge onto his next adventure safe in the knowledge that his remaining four legged family would be looked after by the friendly staff at Gawler Animal Hospital.

Sincerely, Kim and Stuart Cannon"

"Dear staff at Gawler Animal Hospital,

The last few days have been so incredibly hard. Three days ago I had the most beautiful, amazing, funny and loving four-year-old boy who never ceased to make my heart burst with love when I saw him. Today I am filled with grief and am heartbrokenL.

During the last five weeks since Hugo was first diagnosed with cancer you have all been so incredibly amazing! Every time I brought him in all the staff would come out to give Hugo hugs & kisses risking being slimed and slobbered on!! You all made him feel so loved and he really loved coming to see you all! I feel so blessed to have had Hugo, he was one of a kind and there was no person who met him who didn’t fall in love with him. Thank you all for being so genuinely caring and for understanding so implicitly how much I loved him. Knowing you all did everything you could to treat his illness and make his last few weeks as pain free as possible made this time so much more bearable.

Thank you just doesn’t seem enough.

At the moment I feel as though I could never have another dog as the pain of losing him is just too much, but if there ever comes a time where I do bring another boy into my life rest assured Gawler Animal Hospital will be the first to meet him!

Love always,

Amanda Nixon & Family."

"Dearest Sarah and all of the beautiful staff at Gawler Animal Hospital. John and I would sincerely like to thank you all for the very special care you gave our beloved Elvis... our angel. There was only one thing that outshone your absolute professionalism and that was the kindness and respect you gave to us and your special feelings for Elvis. It is no wonder he loved coming to see you all - you made such a fuss of him (and we all know he loved that!). Thank you all once again - as we miss him, we will also miss you.

Warmest regards, Cathie and John Oldfield."

Editor's note - Elvis passed away peacefully August 12th 2012 - He was an absolute legend and we'll all miss him enormously

The comments in the preceding paragraph reflect the level of commitment our clients have to their pets. People like this are a joy to work with and it's very satisfying for our staff to have this positive feedback from them. An added bonus for us is that these clients have a habit of telling their friends all about us. As a result, the vast majority of new clients coming to Gawler Animal Hospital do so as the result of word-of-mouth referrals from current clients. For us, this is a huge benefit as it means we will be working with like-minded people who appreciate the level of care we offer. If you've been happy with our service, we'd love you to tell all your pet-owning friends about your experience here. We really value these referrals, so much so that we've created a special category of ‘Referral' client on our database! Each month, we pull a name out of the hat and reward the winning client with a prize. If you have referred a friend to us, make sure that they let us know this when they come in so that your name can go into the draw!!
